Final Projects

Final Reflection

Prior to this course, I didn’t know too much about multimedia communication. I had a bit of experience with photography and video editing, but I didn’t even know these projects fell under the multimedia category. With multimedia communication, it’s not about what a person creates; It is about what the work communicates to the audience. The photo, illustration, and video project has taught to keep the audience in mind when creating. I always loved to design for fun, but never thought about how others would react to my work or how effective these works could be.

After working on the photo, illustration, and video projects in class, I’ve learned a lot about these digital forms and the applications we used when creating these projects. For starters, I learned how to use the ‘layers’ feature on Photoshop to combine multiple images. I also learned how to do some light retouching on Photoshop, which will be beneficial in the future when I take photos for other people! In Illustrator, I learned how to use image tracing and the recoloring effect on images; These features opened my eyes to a plethora of other tools available on Illustrator. As for video editing, I learned how to play around with various effects and transition tools on Final Cut Pro. Overall, I enjoyed the process of receiving feedback from my fellow classmates and Professor Sorapure and being able to use them for guidance before submitting the final projects. Multimedia communication has allowed me to express my creativity in projects that aren’t commonly assigned in writing courses.
